- Scanned the Engine Control Module (ECM) for diagnostic trouble codes and retrieved P0128 – Coolant Thermostat Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature. Traced to a failed thermostat assembly. Recommend thermostat.
- Change engine oil and replace oil filter Check P/S Fluid Check and Replace Air Filter, if needed Check Differential Fluids Check Tire Pressure and Wear Check Belts and Hoses Check Transmission Fluid Check Washer Fluid Check Leaks Check Battery Check Transfer Case Fluid Added Fluids As Needed
- Removed the air cleaner element and replaced with new.
- Drained the cooling system. Removed the thermostat and replaced with new. Replaced the thermostat seal with new. Added new coolant to the cooling system. Cleared the diagnostic trouble codes. Road tested vehicle to verify repairs. Thermostat operates as designed. Coolant temperature is as designed.
